Kenny Roberts will miss the German Grand Prix in order to have surgery on his right arm. The operation is to cure the arm ” pump ” which has been a reason for his poor performances this season, exacerbated by the heavier four-stroke.

He should be fit for when the season resumes in at Brno, Czechoslovakia.

Replacing him in Germany will be Yukio Kagayama, who is currently racing the GSV-R in the prototype class in Japan.

Akira Ryo will be riding a third GSV-R as a wild-card in both Germany and Czech Republic. The 34- year-old All-Japan Superbike Champion has raced in the last three GPs, and is helping the team develop the four-stroke.

” I will be riding my hardest to develop the bike and get a good result for Suzuki, ” said Ryo
