Breaking! Hickman and Todd split from FHO to form new squad for BSB and roads

One of the highest profile and successful road racing and British Superbike partnerships has come to an end with FHO Racing parting company with TT winners Peter Hickman and Davey Todd. FHO will continue in BSB with a one-man team having signed 2024 IDM Superbike champion Ilya Mikhalchik, while Hickman and Todd will race for an all new team 8TEN Racing for both the roads and BSB.

Both teams will continue to run fully supported BMW M1000RRs.

There is no question that it is a surprising end to what seemed like a strong and successful partnership that has seen Hickman win multiple TTs as well as cementing his place as the fastest man around the IoM.

Hickman’s new team 8TEN Racing is named after TT race numbers of Todd (#8) and Hickman (#10) and represents a formidable roads line up following on from Hickman’s TT successes and Todd’s Superstock and Senior TT wins in 2024.

The new 8TEN Racing team will be officially launched on February 26 and MCN understands it will be made up predominantly of previous FHO Racing mechanics and crew chiefs.

Faye Ho’s new team will not only race in BSB, it will also expand into Asia as well as continuing strong support for young female racers.

Peter Hickman contests the 2023 IoM TT Superstock race

Faye said: “I’ve come to realise I cannot fully commit to the previous levels of time that I have given to BSB and Road Racing since becoming team owner in 2021 with additional commitments I have back at home in Macau. With the support of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, and my continued passion for British Superbikes, we have altered our approach to run a one-rider team for the 2025 season, with the very talented Ilya Mikhalchik and I am excited to see what he can achieve.”

For BMW, it means they continue their affiliation with both Hickman and Todd who won the 2024 Superbike and Senior TTs on the M1000RR as well as getting a third supported bike on the grid in BSB.
