Kyle Ryde has signed a one-year contract extension with OMG Racing UK and will remain with the Yamaha team for his 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship campaign.

Next season will be Ryde’s fifth with the team, having joined in 2021 when the team raced BMW M1000 RRs. Whilst the BMW campaign was tough, Ryde has been a constant frontrunner in the championship since making the switch to Yamaha.

Ryde remains very much in this year’s title fight with Tommy Bridewell and Glenn Irwin, and currently finds himself second overall in the championship. The number 77 is six points behind Bridewell and 39 clear of Irwin after securing six wins and a total of 13 podiums so far in 2024.

“I’m delighted to be remaining with the OMG Racing family for 2025,” Ryde said. “The team have played a huge part in my career so far, and I’m excited for that to continue next year. The whole team and I have made huge progress with the R1, and with the changes coming I’m excited to see what that means for us moving forwards.

“We’re all hungry for more success next season, but we’re aware of the current job at hand, so we’ll give it all to return in 2025 as the British Superbike Champion. I want to thank Alan, Paul and the whole OMG Racing team for their continued support.”

Ryde made his full-time BSB debut in 2020 with Buildbase Suzuki and put himself well and truly in the spotlight when he did the double at Silverstone. Since joining OMG in 2021 Ryde has won a further 13 races.

Earlier in his career, Ryde secured the 2014 National Superstock 600 and the 2019 GP2 Championships. Between his two triumphs, the Jacksdale rider secured top five finishes in the Supersport World Championship, including his third place as a wildcard at Donington Park in 2015 on a Yamaha R6.

“We knew that retaining Kyle’s services for next season was a must for us, so we are over the moon to have him stay with the OMG Racing UK team next year,” OMG Racing UK Team Owner, Alan Gardner said. “He’s been with us for four seasons and has grown such an impressive amount, not only as a rider but also as a person, and we’re delighted to have him with us again in 2025.

“He’s delivered the team so much success over recent seasons and long may that continue. After the announcement of Joe Talbot at Oulton Park, 2025 is set to be an exciting year for us.”

Ryde will ride alongside current Superstock title contender Joe Talbot, who signed a two-year deal with OMG earlier this month. Talbot is five points behind Davey Todd with four races remaining in 2024.

“Of course we are pleased to have Kyle back with us next year,” OMG Racing UK Team Manager, Paul Curran added. “He’s proven himself as a top rider in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship over many years and as a team, it was only natural that we’d want to keep Kyle for 2025.

“He has impressed us on many occasions, standing on the top step together 13 times so far, and taking 19 further podiums in OMG colours. We are all excited to see what next season holds and continue to add to those stats together.”
