Danny Kent will remain with McAMS Racing Yamaha for the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship season.

The announcement was made ahead of qualifying and the opening BSB race of the weekend at Thruxton, which is Kent’s local circuit. Kent becomes the first rider confirmed for the 2025 BSB season as a result.

Kent joined the team at the start of the 2024 season and has enjoyed his strongest start to a BSB campaign yet. The 2025 Moto3 World Champion failed to finish outside of the top six in the opening eight races, and has secured four podiums so far.

After a couple of crashes in recent rounds, Kent dropped to fifth in the championship, 69 points behind championship leader Tommy Bridewell.

“I’m very pleased to be continuing into 2025 with McAMS Racing.” Kent said. “The team and I have a great relationship, so I’m looking forward to seeing it progress into another season on track. It’s always been my intention to continue with the same team.

“There’s still much more to come from both me and the bike, but so far this year, we’ve done a great job. We’ll get our heads down for the remainder of the 2024 season and continue to learn and improve as the year goes on. The hunt for our first race win is still on, I feel confident that we’ll be able to add it to the locker before the season is out, along with some extra podiums too.”

Kent ended the opening day at Thruxton on top with a best lap-time of 1:15.156, enough to pip Bridewell to top spot by 0.139s.

“There’s still plenty to play for in 2024,” Team Owner, Tim Martin. “We’ve been looking at our options for next year and are pleased to announce that Danny will be continuing with us for another year.

“I’m confident that together, we’ll be able to build on the progress we have already made during the first half of the year. Hopefully, we can carry that into the rest of the season and propel ourselves towards the front of the championship.”

Qualifying at Thruxton gets underway with Q1 at 13:30 and is immediately followed by Q2 at 13:52. The opening race of the weekend is scheduled to begin at 16:30.
