Bradley Perie will return to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship for the remaining four rounds of the 2024 season following Tom Neave’s decision to take a step back from racing to allow his body to heal.

Perie will take over from Neave onboard the STAUFF Fluid Power Kawasaki ZX-10RR this weekend at Cadwell Park. The 2022 Quattro Group British Supersport runner-up made his BSB debut last season with Lee Hardy Racing, ending his campaign with a best result of 11th (x4).

It was an impressive second half of the season but Perie was unable to secure a seat for 2024, with Lee Hardy’s team also not on the grid. Perie joined Gearlink Kawasaki in the Supersport class, but the partnership ended after three rounds.

“You can either sleep with your dreams or wake up and chase them and it’s not only a dream of mine, but a pleasure to have been given the opportunity to return back to the Bennetts British Superbike grid with GR Motosport onboard the STAUFF Fluid Power Kawasaki,” Perie commented.

“2024 has definitely thrown a few curve balls my way, but nothing would give me greater satisfaction than to give GR Motosport and all of my loyal supporters something to get excited about and reestablish my place on the grid.

“I’d like to wish Tom all the best in his future and with his recovery and also take the time to thank Brent and the team for this opportunity and hope we can have a successful end to the season.”

Tom Neave won't be back on the BSB grid in 2024.

Meanwhile, Neave has been struggling with injuries throughout his 2024 campaign, triggered by crashes in the season opener at Navarra. Neave then missed Oulton Park and Donington Park, and later withdrew from Brands Hatch after a heavy fall at Surtees.

“I’ve been a little quiet lately but you’ve probably seen that I’ve decided to take a step back from racing for the remainder of this season,” Neave said on Facebook. “I’ve been managing an injury since the beginning of the season, and since my return I haven’t had the progress myself and the team expected.

“I feel at this point in the year it’s the right time to cut my losses and put my health first in order to get back to my best self. It’s been a tough decision to make, for many reasons, but I know deep down it’s 100% the correct thing for me to do right now.

“I’m still extremely motivated and passionate about the sport, and this is by no means the end. I’ll be back fitter and faster in 2025. I owe a huge thank you to the team GR Motosport and STAUFF for their relentless belief and determination this year and I wish them the best of luck for the remaining four rounds. The same goes for all my personal sponsors, family and supporters who have stuck by me during a difficult season. Thanks to you all.”
