BSB: Milwaukee Spring Grand Slam returns for 2022

Bennetts British Superbike Championships riders will again have an extra incentive this season with up to £50,000 up for grabs in the Milwaukee Spring Grand Slam.

The six-race sub-contest takes place at Oulton Park (30 April – 2 May) and Donington Park (20 – 22 May). Each race weekend will be known respectively as The Milwaukee Race of the North (Oulton) and The Milwaukee King of Donington.

If a rider wins all six of those races, they will claim the top prize of £50,000. If somebody manages to win five out six races, they’ll receive £25,000. Whilst any rider who can celebrate victory four times across the two events will scoop £10,000.

“The Milwaukee Spring Grand Slam adds an extra dimension of competition to the series at an early stage of the season,” Series Director, Stuart Higgs said. “We saw last year how consecutive race wins can be achieved, so it will be fascinating to follow these two events to see if any of this year’s contenders can put the hammer down and win all six races!”

Milwaukee has increased its involvement in BSB this year, moving into an “associate-level partnership” with the series. Milwaukee will continue to feature at all 11 championship rounds this year, following their return to BSB last season.

“I am delighted that we will be continuing our relationship with Milwaukee into the 2022 season with an enhanced level of partnership,” Higgs added. “The team at Milwaukee have a real passion for the sport, and their increased involvement within the championship is simply a positive for the series and its loyal followers globally.”

The first official test for the 2022 BSB season takes place at Snetterton on March 26-27 and will be followed by further tests at Donington Park (March 31), Silverstone (April 6-7), and Oulton Park (April 21).

Round one of the 2022 season takes place at Silverstone on April 15-17.
