BSB: Provisional 2022 calendar unveiled

The provisional 2022 Bennetts British Superbike Championship calendar has been revealed by series organisers MSVR.

Next year’s championship will return to a more traditional schedule, with the championship getting underway in April. Also, there will be only one set of rounds held on back-to-back weekends.

Silverstone holds the opening round of 2022, on its National Circuit, on April 15-17. Prior to round one there will be three pre-season tests held at Snetterton (March 25-27), Donington Park National (March 31), and Silverstone National (April 6-7). For the second consecutive year, there will be no European testing.

After the opening round the paddock will head to Oulton Park for a one-day test on April 21, with the Cheshire circuit then hosting round two on April 30 – May 2. Donington Park hosts round three on the National layout (May 20-22).

Knockhill is the only race meeting in June (17-19), whilst Brands Hatch GP is the only venue in July (22-24). Trips to Thruxton and Cadwell Park await the championship in August.

Due to the British MotoGP being moved forward to an earlier date of August 5-7, Cadwell Park will return to its traditional, much-loved, slot on the August Bank Holiday Weekend. This means that races two and three will take place on Monday August 29. Snetterton hosts the final ‘main season’ round on September 9-11.

The three Showdown rounds will once again take place at Silverstone National (September 23-25), Donington Park GP (September 30 – October 2) and Brands Hatch GP (October 14-16).
