BSB: Linfoot escapes injury in Assen horror crash

1 of 1

Dan Linfoot miraculously escaped injury after a horrific accident during Sunday’s second Bennetts BSB race.

Linfoot smashed into the back of Leon Haslam, who had to slow to avoid another rider, on the exit of the Gert Timmer chicane on the first lap, leaving him to fall into the path of the close-knit chasing pack.

Glenn Irwin slammed into a stricken Linfoot, while Tommy Bridewell tangled with his Fireblade, which burst into flames.

Bridewell was uninjured in the crash, but Linfoot was taken to hospital with suspected pelvic injuries, only to later confirm he’d escaped unscathed.

“Thanks to everyone for the messages regarding today’s accident,” he said. “Firstly, thanks to all medics at Assen, great service as always. Sorry to Tommy Bridewell and all others insolved. I got away lightly with no injuries but I’ll be sore for a few days…”
