Christian Iddon and Michael Laverty will join Danny Webb in the Penz13.com BMW squad for the 2018 Endurance World Championship.

Iddon and Laverty, both signed to compete for Tyco BMW in the 2018 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, will join the former 125cc/Moto3 Grand Prix racer for the remaining four rounds of the 2017/2018 World Endurance Championship.

After a podium at the Bol d’Or last September, the Penz13.com outfit currently sit second in the world championship with team manager Rico Penzkofer hoping the addition of two BSB front-runners will bolster their chances of a world title this year.

Speaking of the new deal, Michael Laverty said: “I am looking forward to joining the Penz13 team as they have a lot of experience and success in endurance racing and I look forward to adding to that starting at Le Mans.

“I have really enjoyed competing in endurance, even the 24hr events, they are tough but the satisfaction of standing on the podium at the end is fantastic. The Penz13 team is currently second in the championship so we have a great base to start from.”

Iddon added: “After racing at Suzuka last year I really wanted to do more races in EWC because I enjoy it a lot and I believe it can help me be a better rider. I am grateful to Tyco BMW for allowing me to race with Penz13. Already as a team and as a group of riders we can fight for the title but in endurance anything can happen and Le Mans 24hr race will be a big test for us all but I can’t wait to get going.”
