BSB: Ellison pleased with Jerez test progress

James Ellison was encouraged by the improvements made by the TAG Racing team over the winter as the 2017 BSB runner-up squad completed their first test of the year in Jerez.

Ellison had been apprehensive about a switch from Ohlins to K-Tech suspension after an initial test at Donington Park late last year, but the Cumbrian was much happier with the machine the Swadlincote-based outfit turned out for the three-day outing.

“I’d say on a whole the test was very successful for myself and the team,” he explained. “I tested the bike back in November at Donington and based on the information gathered the team built me a bike they thought I would like and they did a great job.

“I felt at home on it from the first lap, which was a huge confidence for me as I did have a few reservations about changing suspension suppliers after feeling so good on the Yamaha last year. We didn’t quite get a single fast lap in as the rain came in towards the end of the test, but I was happy with the improvements and I’m excited to get back out.”
