BSB: 2019 Provisional entry list released
Bennetts British Superbike bosses have released a provisional entry list for the 2019 season, featuring 30 entries from 21 teams.
The grid takes a significantly different look for 2019 with the departure of champion and runner-up Leon Haslam and Jake Dixon, while six-time champion Shane Byrne remains absent after that horrific crash in testing at Snetterton back in May.
The grid sees new faces aplenty, with former MotoGP rider Scott Redding headlining the new arrivals as he joins the Be Wiser Ducati team alongside Josh Brookes.
World Superbike Independent Teams champion Xavi Forés also makes the switch to BSB with the Honda Racing team alongside Andrew Irwin, who will enter his first full season in the series after making his debut with Be Wiser Ducati last year.
Six rookies will line-up on the grid, including Dickies Supersport runner-up Ben Currie, who joins the RAF Regular and Reserves Kawasaki team and Superstock 600 champion Ryan Vickers.
Pirelli National Superstock 1000 champion Keith Farmer also makes a return to the premier class alongside Christian Iddon in the Tyco BMW team.
A number of teams have already been out testing in Spain ahead of a winter testing ban in January and February with testing set to get underway with an official test at Monteblanco in Spain in March.
One ride remains alongside Bradley Ray in the Buildbase Suzuki team, rumoured to be Billy McConnell while there’s also a new team set to join the grid, which will be announced in January.
