BSB: 'Steady start' sees Linfoot third overall

Honda Racing rider Dan Linfoot left Donington pleased with a strong opening weekend that sees him going forward third in the title race.

But more importantly for the Yorkshireman, he says he’s pleased that he’s been able to make a solid start to the year without taking any risks.

“I’m happy with the weekend, because it’s the perfect example of not overdoing it,” he said. “Conditions were shit, and one of our main objectives was to not crash, bend the bike and lose confidence. I wanted a nice steady start, so that when we’re at the next round, temperatures are back to normal and riders are knocking on as normal, I’m able to go with them.

“The weekend has done me no harm in terms of issues later in the year, because it means that if I have a few issues or a crash later in the year have a few points in the bag now and I shouldn’t be left looking back and wanting more. We’ve made a good solid start to the year without overdoing it and while riding cautiously.”
