BSB: Suspension change improves feeling for Iddon

Christian Iddon is hopeful the progress he and the Tyco BMW team made with the S1000RR in the wet can be carried through into the dry after topping the timesheets on the opening day at Silverstone.

The showdown contender was quick in both of today’s wet sessions but believes a suspension change made in FP2 could help them when it comes to fighting in dry conditions should the weather improve as the weekend goes on.

“It’s been a good day,” he told MCN. “Conditions got better and better this afternoon. We came in to make some changes half way through and I think we made quite a big step with the bike, we went for something quite different with the suspension.

It seemed to give me more feeling and I don’t see why we couldn’t move what we’ve done into a dry set-up which is reassuring.

“That being said, today doesn’t mean a great deal for the rest of the weekend. It means I can go to bed tonight happy with P1 though! I enjoyed riding today, the bike felt pretty nice.”
