BSB: Cooper to run Classic Suzuki livery

1 of 1

Richard Cooper has unveiled a stunning retro-livery for the Bennetts Suzuki GSX-R1000 he’ll wildcard in this weekend’s eleventh round of the 2017 MCE British Superbike Championship.

Inspired by the original GSX-R750F in Yoshimura Endurance Racing colours, Cooper’s GSX-R will feature the classic blue and white Suzui colours with the National Superstock 1000 championship challenger also donning a special set of RST leathers.

The Bennetts Suzuki squad are hoping Cooper’s experience and proven development record will further help the progress of GSX-R as they look to turn the new for 2017 model into a series front-runner.

“Once we decided I would ride the Superbike this weekend, we started thinking about doing something special with it,” said Cooper, who designed the one-off livery himself.

“As good as bikes like the new GSX-R are, I also really like the retro stuff and the colours we’ve gone for just scream classic Suzuki! That whole scene is very popular at the moment, I rode the Team Classic Suzuki Katana recently – which was really good- and the team has also got an immaculate GSX-R750F. That bike’s the real showpiece for Suzuki, so basing the design on that just seemed like a nice fit for this weekend.”
