BSB: Dixon 'sore but OK' after fast Brands off

1 of 1

Jake Dixon has said he is ‘sore but OK’ after a fast crash in this afternoon’s second free practice session at Brands Hatch.

The RAF Regular and Reserves rider crashed after tucking the front at Hawthorns, the fast right hander onto the back of the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. The red flag came out while Dixon was tended to by medics, and while he was up on his feet he was taken to the medical centre for precautionary checks.

With his ZX-10RR taking significant damage, Dixon himself is also feeling a little second hand.

“I’m sore! I took quite a bash to my back and neck and I’m certainly feeling it,” Dixon said. “I feel written off. Other than that the bike was feeling good before the crash. “We were quite strong in the first part of the session but when we rolled out with our new tyre I just got a bit caught out and lost the front at Hawthorns.

“Unfortunately, it was quite a big crash and the bike isn’t looking great, but we’re just taking it as it comes and will see how things are tomorrow.”
