Luke Mossey has been ruled out of action for the remainder of the seventh round of the 2017 MCE British Superbike Championship at Thruxton after a crash in this morning’s free practice session.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider clipped the grass on the exit of the final turn at the super-fast Thruxton circuit and was thrown from his ZX-10RR. Flying through the air, Mossey tangled with his bike as they hit the ground and slid down the start finish straight.

The session was red flagged with Mossey receiving immediate medical attention trackside. While he was conscious and talking to medics, he was complaining of pain in his back.

After X-Rays at the circuit, he has now been transferred to hospital for further assessment.

Mossey was second in the championship heading into Thruxton and had shown strong pace across the weekend. Had he completed the lap he was on, it would have been his quickest of the weekend.
