Mossey takes debut pole at Brands Hatch

Luke Mossey will start on pole position for tomorrow’s opening MCE British Superbike race at Brands Hatch after a quick late lap saw him topple James Ellison from the top of the timesheets.

There or there abouts across the weekend, the young gun’s time of 45.275 was enough to outpace his Kawasaki rival by just 0.028 seconds. Local man Shane Byrne completes the front row on the BeWiser PBM Ducati.

Michael Laverty heads up row two on the Tyco BMW ahead of winner last time out, Richard Cooper and Bennetts Suzuki’s Tommy Bridewell.

Leon Haslam, unable to make it three poles from three, was seventh ahead of John Hopkins and Jason O’Halloran, who only got one flying lap after a crash in Q2 left his mechanics rushing to have the bike ready for the final session.

Championship leader Christian Iddon was unable to progress through Q2 and qualified 11th
