BSS: Champion Stapleford set for Snetterton return

1 of 1

Reigning British Supersport Champion Luke Stapleford will make a welcome return to the British series at Snetterton next weekend.

After claiming an incredible 14 race wins to lift the title last year, Stapleford moved on to the World Supersport Championship this season. However, with a big summer break in the world series’ calendar, Stapleford’s Profile Racing Triumph squad are looking to fill the gap with some vital testing time while also hoping to return where they left off in 2015.

“I am really excited about coming back to the championship this weekend and I am sure I will have a bit of a target on my back!,” said Stapleford, who will run the coveted number one plate for his return.

“We have such a long break now between rounds that we have been looking to fill the gap and this is a great way to do that!

“We can test some of the areas we know we need to work on, but simply don’t have time in the World Championship, and we have some radical ideas to try. I know though that I want to be pushing on so we are aiming for a very productive weekend and it might be that we do more than one round.

“I have been keeping a close eye on the championship and it will be interesting to see what happens next weekend so we can gauge where we are at, because we know the track and what we were able to do there last year.

“I am sure a lot of people will think it will be easy coming back, but I am not looking at it like that at all; the lads at the front have a few rounds under their belts and it has been really close between them so I am looking forward to trying to mix it up with them. I just want to get out there and go for it! We want to get a good result and that should be a good confidence boost for the team.”
