BSB: Teams conclude Cadwell testing

A selection of MCE British Superbike teams concluded testing at Lincolnshire’s Cadwell Park this evening, with stunning weather leading to a productive outing for all present.

JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s trio were out in full force for both days of the test, with Leon Haslam, James Ellison and Peter Hickman able to test for the first time since the start of the season. Feedback was positive among the Team Green camp, with all three riders happy with progress made.

While there was no official timing, word at Cadwell was that Haslam was fastest with a time of 1’26.6, just two tenths off his ten-year-old lap record but it’s thought young gun Danny Buchan was close to the former WSB race winner as he returned to Kawasaki machinery with the Tsingtao MSS squad. Hickman and Ellison are thought to have clocked low 1’27 lap times.

Haslam and Buchan’s times are comparable to the pace run by Shane Byrne and Jason O’Halloran when the Be Wiser Ducati and Honda Racing teams tested at Cadwell earlier this month.

Local lad Lee Jackson recorded a time of 1’27.3 on the Buildbase BMW, with team-mate Richard Cooper on his coattails.

Stuart Easton enjoyed a strong first test as he made his debut for the Lloyds British Moto Rapido Ducati team. The Scotsman admitted he was slightly off the pace of the other riders but was happy with this progress given he sat on the bike for the first time yesterday.

RAF BMW’s Alastair Seeley and Jake Dixon were also on track today, while ePayMe Yamaha’s John Hopkins was present for Tuesday only.
