Mossey on top as BSB testing moves on

MCE British Superbike rookie Luke Mossey has topped the time sheets on the final day of the 2015 Cartagena test, coming within 0.1 seconds of Tommy Hill’s circuit record.

Mossey, on the Quattro Plant Teccare Kawasaki, admitted afterwards that the speed with which he had adopted to the superbike package had surprised him; in turn, giving him a chance to explore the limits of the bike with his lap record attempt on Sunday morning.

“We still didn’t change anything from yesterday in terms of settings; we just put in a new race tyre to see what we could do, so it was a bit of a bonus to do the time because we didn’t have to do that with the other tyre. We’re all done for the day now and it has been a good test, so I feel ready for the next one at Donington now.”

With the Cartagena test complete, many of the paddock now move on to further testing ahead of the official UK test at Donington Park on the 26th March. JG Speedfit GBmoto Kawasaki, Halsall Suzuki, and be Wiser Kawasaki are among the teams heading to Gaudix, while Tyco BMW join the German manufacturer’s race camp at Almeria.

Meanwhile, Honda Racing newcomer Jenny Tinmouth gets her first outing on the Fireblade at a private test at Monteblanco, while Yamaha Europe host Milwaukee Yamaha, alongside road racing team Martrain, at Alcarras.
