Knockhill delay after overnight track damage

1 of 3

Morning proceedings at the fifth round of the MCE British Superbike championship at Knockhill has been delayed after torrential overnight rain at the Scottish track caused severe damage to the run into turn one.

With the extreme rain, coming as part of a thunderstorm after a pleasant first day at the Fife track, causing the tar to lift, circuit staff and BSB organisers MSV are currently working on emergency repairs to the surface.

The delay while the hole is filled has resulted in a delay to the day’s proceedings, with a new schedule seeing the first bikes on track moved back from 0845 to 1130.
