Jenkinson to replace Parkes for Thruxton BSB

National Superstock 1000 rider Adam Jenkinson will replace Broc Parkes on the Milwaukee Yamaha for this weekend’s Thruxton MCE British Superbike round.

The Australian is struggling with the physicality of the Hampshire track after arm pump surgery prior to heading to Japan for the Suzuka 8 Hour, and was unable to complete more than four laps at a time during this morning’s Free Practice 1 session.

Instead now, he’ll be substituted for Jenkinson, who is currently the only Yamaha rider in the Stock 1000 series. Working closely with the SMR team behind Milwaukee Yamaha to develop the production bike package, team manager Mick Shanley says he was the natural choice to step in.

The team were keen to stress, however, that the replacement remains for one weekend only, with Jenkinson also retaining his commitments to the Northern Escalators Installations Yamaha team, topping the first free practice session of the weekend for them.
