Brookes and Byrne the bookies' favourite for Cadwell

Round eight of the MCE British Superbike Championship is upon us and we’re off to Cadwell Park.

Briggs Equipment BMW rider Peter Hickman is set to line up at his local track following his maiden Superbike success here last year.

But the majority of attention is likely to focus on championship leaders Josh Brookes and Shane Byrne.

Brookes currently enjoys a 12-point lead over defending champion Byrne and has won the last four races.

Bookmaker Ladbrokes are getting involved by pricing up the race winner market ahead of the action.

William Geldart of Ladbrokes said: “Josh Brookes is flying at the moment and we’re dreading the thought of him notching up a fifth straight win. Much like when England claimed this year’s Ashes, we’re hoping Shane Byrne will overcome the Aussie challenge.”
