Silverstone BSB: Kiyo makes it one each for title fighters

1 of 1

Ryuichi Kiyonari has made it one apiece for the BSB title fighters at Silverstone, taking the fight to Shane Byrne in the second race of the day to hold off his fellow triple champion and mean that the points gap going into the final round remains at a mere 12.

Much as in race one, the duo made an escape at the front alongside Josh Brookes on the Milwaukee Yamaha, but the Australian was soon to leave the dice after a fast crash at Brooklands left him out of the chase and out of the championship.

Byrne was unable to replicate his first race move on the last lap, though, and was left to follow the Japanese rider home by a mere 0.074.

Brookes’ mistake elevated James Ellison into third, taking his first podium since the crash that badly broke his leg at Brands Hatch back in June. Tommy Bridewell was fourth, with a strong Josh Waters fifth and Stuart Easton completing three weekends in a row inside the top six.
