GBmoto Kawasaki are set to rebrand for the 2015 MCE British Superbike series, with new title sponsor JG Speedfit coming onboard to give the team an all-new look.

The new sponsor, an industry-leading plumbing supplier, has been involved in BSB for a number of years in the lower classes, but UK director of sales Mike Risely says the new partnership marks the beginning of a big opportunity for them.

“We’re really excited to be associated with such a professional and ambitious team as GBmoto and are thoroughly looking forward to joining them on their 2015 BSB title campaign.”

“We’ve had a historic association with motorsport, mainly on 4 wheels, but stepped into the BSB paddock for the first time a couple of years ago sponsoring a team in the British Superstock 1000 Championship. We spent this time evaluating if motorcycle-racing sponsorship had a good affinity with our brand and determined it clearly does in terms of elevating brand awareness and identity, so it was a natural step up to the British Superbike class for 2015.”

“The GBmoto squad offer great opportunities for us in terms of B2B marketing, hospitality and extra events for our installers, specifiers and stockists to enjoy.”

With James Ellison already onboard for 2015, the team are currently in negotiations with a number of others to fill the vacant secondseat.

With paddock rumours suggesting that the team only just lost out on securing the services of Shane Byrne, team boss Mark Smith Halvorsen has laid his cards on the table for 2015, with the season goal now being nothing short of a title win.

“The entire team worked tirelessly last winter to plan and prepare our race bikes and I think we proved, that the GBmoto Kawasaki team were genuine title contenders in the opening round, taking three podiums at Brands Hatch. With seven podiums from the opening nine races, there was no doubt in our minds that James was going to be a Title Fighter but unfortunately one crash wrecked his entire season.”

“In my opinion, there is still only a handful of guys capable of winning the BSB title and James is certainly one of them – he is going to be a true Championship contender in 2015 – we’re coming!”
