Josh Brookes has announced that he is determined to leave the MCE British Superbike championship at the end of the current season, with the Australian admitting that his goal for 2015 is to return to the World Superbike paddock.

A former World Supersport racer, Brookes has past form on the world championship stage, finishing third in the 2008 Supersport series as well as numerous points scoring finishes in the big bike class.

Speaking at the Monster Energy Fans’ Thursday at Brands Hatch yesterday, he admitted that his time in BSB is at an end.

“I feel now like this will be my last season in BSB. It was always in my heart a stepping stone to where I wanted to be, and as much as I love the racing and the fans in the UK, my goal isn’t to end my career here.”

“When I first came to BSB, I felt like it was a step backwards in my career, but it’s turned into a step to the side, and gave me routine in my racing with strong, consistent teams. Hopefully now that I’ve proved that, I’ve done what I need to do to secure a top ride elsewhere.”
