Cadwell Park BSB: Lowes does the double

Samsung Honda rider Alex Lowes topped off a dominant weekend at Cadwell Park to take victory in race two after also winning the first race.

Lowes again got a terrific start, overtaking Josh Brookes to take the lead on the first lap, and looked as though he would lead for the entire race, with Shane Byrne struggling to keep pace with the leading group.

Brookes was looking comfortable in second place, but a big mistake going over the mountain allowed Halsall Racing’s Tommy Bridewell to move in to second.

Just a few laps later Brookes had regrouped and retook second place going in to the hairpin on lap 16.

Brookes then set the fastest lap of the race on lap 17 and on the the final lap made his move to the lead at Park corner.

It was not to be for the Tyco Suzuki rider, as he lowsided at Mansfield, handing the victory to Lowes.

Brookes’ crash promoted James Ellison to third place. Byrne finished off the podium in fourth.
