Connor Cummins’ inspirational fight back from serious injuries sustained in a 170mph crash during the 2010 TT has been rewarded with one of the best rides in road racing.

The 25-year-old Manxman has signed to ride for the Tyco TAS Suzuki team and will race at the NW200, TT, Southern 100, Ulster GP plus the opening three rounds of the National Superstock series as a ‘warm-up’ to the roads.

Cummins told MCN:  “This is fantastic. Being part of a proper factory team has been something I’ve always aspired to – and something I’ve always wanted so much.”

Team boss Philip Neill added: “The commitment Conor has shown in his comeback has been incredible. He’s overcome the biggest hurdle possible and, if your head is right enough to race at the TT, the you’re head is right to win there.”

Full exclusive interview in MCN today (Wednesday, Jan 18).
