Ambitious new race team, CN Racing, has signed an agreement to work with Dutch-based Ten Kate Honda for the 2012 season.

The Hebden Bridge-based team is intent on lifting the 2012 Superstock 1000 crown. Having secured technical support from the revered Honda WSB team, they are confident of continuing their race-winning form that they displayed in the latter part of the 2011 season.

Three CN Racing Fireblades will line up on the Superstock 1000 grid next year with three talented riders, all keen to make their mark on the class.

Danny Buchan has agreed terms with the team for 2012. The gifted 18-year-old from Basildon finished third in the Superstock 600 Championship in 2010 before astounding the paddock last season scoring race wins and setting lap records on his way to the runner-up spot in the Superstock 1000 Championship in his first season aboard a 1000cc machine.

Buchan said: “I’m chuffed to have signed for CN Racing and we’ve now time to get some meaningful testing under our belts before the season starts. The deal with Ten Kate is exciting news for everyone and I’m confident that we’ll have the package we need to win. I’ve only one aim for 2012 and that’s to win the championship – I came second this year and I want to go one better.”

American ace Taylor Knapp (25) remains with the team, the former AMA star from Michigan keen to show his potential in the British Championship having already made his mark with regular top five finishes often at tracks he’d never seen before.

Glenn Irwin from Carrickfergus also remains with the team, the 21-year-old stepping up to the challenge of racing a 1000cc machine having finished as runner-up in the 2011 Superstock 600 Championship scoring six podiums from eight finishes including three race wins.

In the Superstock 600 class, 17-year-old Ulsterman, Andy Reid will ride the CBR600RR. He made the switch to the four-stroke 600cc machine towards the end of the year, finishing a hugely creditable sixth at the final round.
