Brands Hatch bsb: Hodgson out of first round

Neil Hodgson has withdrawn from today’s BSB races at Brands Hatch.

The former WSB and BSB champion crashed the Motorpoint Yamaha in this morning’s warm-up and banged the shoulder he injured in a motocross accident last year.

Team boss Rob McElnea said: “We don’t think it’s anything serious but he’s too knocked about to risk racing today.”

Hodgson struggled in qualifying, unable to find the same feel he got from the Motorpoint Yamaha in testing.

McElnea added: “Neil’s confidence had already taken a knock after qualifying. He hasn’t felt comfortable on the bike all weekend so it’s probably best to regroup and come back at Thruxton fully fit.”
