Tommy Bridewell to race at Mallory BSB

Tommy Bridewell has announced he will race in the next BSB round at Mallory Park on July 19.

Aboard the Team NB Suzuki GSX-R1000K6, the 20-year-old from Etchilhampton near Devizes has won the last four races in the BSB Cup competition for privateers.

He put in a stunning performance at round six of the series at Knockhill last weekend to finish ninth overall in both races, beating some of the more experienced and better-financed ‘factory’ riders.

Now the Bridewell family has dug deep into the reserves and plan to contest all remaining rounds of the series.

Tommy said: “Most people know what happened at Mallory two years ago (when his brother Ollie lost his life after a crash during practice) so I’m going there with a couple of points to prove to myself and others.

“Despite two or three bikes becoming available after Knockhill, I’m disappointed that no one even gave me a call so I’ve realised that I need to keep putting myself in the shop window and a couple more wins at Mallory will help.

“It’s only another circuit and it will suit my bike so there’s no reason at all why we can’t continue our good run of results and that’s the plan.

“We’ve got the bike working well and I’ve got the added incentive of beating those guys who are just coming into BSB on those bikes so rest assured, if anyone thinks I’ll be fazed by the place and I’ll be holding back they will be sadly mistaken.

“We are going with the sole intention of securing another pair of top ten results, winning both Cup races and beating as many works bikes as possible.”
