Dennis Hobbs rides for AIM Yamaha

Dennis Hobbs is back in British Supersport riding for Alastair Flanagan’s AIM Yamaha team.

Hobbs missed most of the 2008 season after a high-speed crash at Thruxton in April left him with a badly damaged shoulder. But he’s now back to full fitness and raring to go on the team’s R6

Hobbs said: “I’m delighted to have joined Alistair Flanagan’s team for 2009. He’s given me the perfect opportunity to win the 2009 British Supersport Championship and I can’t wait to get back on the bike and back to business.

“I just missed out on the title in 2007 then last year my Thruxton accident left me needing a nerve transplant. My shoulder is recovering well and I’ve been training hard to get back to fitness, ready for this season.

“I had been in talks with my former team, Centurion Racing, about riding for them again this year. However, we have both decided to go our own separate ways for 2009.

“I would like to thank them all for the support they gave me after my accident last year.

“The Yamaha will be a new bike for me to learn this year, but I know it’s winning package as Steve Plater proved for the team in 2008. I’ve proved I can win races at this level and the championship is only thing we need now.”

Ian Lougher will ride an AIM Yamaha R1 in the Superbike and Senior TT races.
