Silverstone British Superbikes: Shane Byrne reserved

Shane Byrne has admitted he might not be riding totally on the edge this weekend as he goes in search of his second BSB crown.

Shakey just needs seven points this weekend, a ninth place finish, to tie up the 2008 crown.

And after the disappointment of not managing the task at Croft a fortnight ago, Byrne said he’s going to ride conservatively to get the job done.

“I’m a bit disappointed not to have won the title in the previous round at Croft”, Shakey said.

“But now I’m fully refreshed and heading to Silverstone where I have a very good chance of taking it, and that is what I and the rest of the Airwaves Ducati team have been working for.

“I like to be on maximum attack, riding on the limit, but I have to ensure that I don’t fall down and that I take the championship – it will be good to get the job done in the first race at Silverstone.”
