Having qualified in second and third behind Shane Byrne, HM Plant Honda rider’s Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow were in good spirits ahead of their final races for HM Plant.

Commenting on his crash in the first qualifying session, Leon Haslam said: “The crash was my own fault, although the track wasn’t in the best condition.

“I high-sided the HM Plant Honda coming out of Surtees but luckily still had 20 minutes to get back to the pits and get into the top 20 in the Roll for Pole.”

Reflecting on the injuries sustained in the crash, Haslam said: “I’m just struggling a little with the damage to my right collarbone.

“The change of direction is the hardest thing to handle, but I’ve got some pain-killers for tonight and I may be strapped up for the race.

“Let’s see what happens.”

Haslam however, was still in confident mood: “In the final session I managed to put the bike in P2 and to be honest I was a little surprised.

“My race pace should be good as it was pretty unbelievable on Friday.”

His HM Plant Honda team-mate Cal Crutchlow also in his last weekend for HM Plant, qualified in third position with a time of 46.118.

“I’m a little disappointed with third, but we’re on the front-row and I know I’ve got the race pace around here to win a race or two and that’s what I’m going all-out to do in my last appearance in the UK for HM Plant Honda,” said Crutchlow.

Likewise, Crutchlow was in similar spirits to his team-mate Leon Haslam regarding the two races today.

“We’ve worked hard on set-up and I’m confident we have the right package to do the business on in both 30-lap races tomorrow.”
