Brands Hatch British Superbikes: Stuart Easton: “It’s so close round here”

Having been placed 22nd in the final practice session of the weekend, MSS Discovery Kawasaki’s Stuart Easton spoke to MCN about how he’s faired so far.

“It’s not been too bad this weekend,” added the former British Supersport Champion.

“The problem is, because it’s such a short track, everyone’s so close.

“But I was 12th yesterday, just 0.2s back of Leon Camier in sixth.

“All we have to do is find a couple of tenths here and there, and we could be looking at a top six to eighth finish.”

Commenting on how his Kawasaki ZX-10R has been this weekend, Easton said: “This place suits the Kawasaki more-so than other places we’ve been to, because it’s not all about top speed, it’s more about keeping momentum.

“Our main problems have been with the power delivery and the chassis.

“If the team can get a bigger budget for next year, we could sort these problems out, as it’s something we’ve had to deal with all season.”

When asked what his plans for next year were, Easton replied: “I’ve not ruled out staying with MSS Discovery next year, but there’s still a lot of talking to be done and then we’ll see what happens.”
