British Superbikes: Leon Haslam confident for Thruxton race setup
Leon Haslam will line-up for tomorrow’s first British Superbike race of the season at Thruxton from second on the grid, confident that he’s got a good setup for the two races.
Haslam set a 1.19.872, ust over a tenth of a second off pole-sitter Shane Byrne in wet conditions.
However, in the dry on Friday it was Haslam who tracked his team-mate Cal Crutchlow with the second fastest time overall in the dry.
Haslam told MCN: “We found a really good setup from yesterday morning and afternoon so I’m confident for tomorrow.
“In wet conditions today we put a new tyre in but we lost a lot of entry grip.
“It then turned into a bit of a lottery for tyres because it started to get dry.
“So we actually set our fastest time this afternoonin really wet conditions.
“But we have a good setup for tomorrow if it’s dry – we can make a few changes in arm-up but there was only Cal faster than us in the dry so I’m confident.”
