Jon Kirkham signs for Raceways Yamaha in British Superstock

Raceways Yamaha have signed Jon Kirkham to replace their British Superstock rider Hudson Kennaugh who is now riding full time for the Virgin Yamaha team in British Superbikes.

Kirkham will race an R1 alongside the team’s current rider Gareth Glynn.

Team boss Steve Rodgers said, “Our plan with Hudson was to get him to a position where he could take up a Superbike ride and we have achieved that goal. It is a shame that he can’t continue with us for the rest of the season but an opportunity like this doesn’t come along every day. We are all one hundred percent behind Hudson and wish him well for the future.”

Kennaugh, a former South African Superbike Champion, said, “The Raceways team have been like my family for the last two years, I feel like I’m leaving home. They have taught me a lot and I know that racing in the UK is tough but they have made it as easy a possible. I’m looking forward to the new challenge with Virgin Yamaha and I’ll be cheering on the Raceways riders for the rest of the year!”
