Cadwell Park British Superbikes: Leon Haslam secures pole at Cadwell

Airwaves Ducati rider Leon Haslam has secured pole position for tomorrow’s British Superbike races at Cadwell Park.

Leon Haslam was the fastest rider this morning and knocked 0.4secs of this time to post a 1:26.081 after 32 minutes.

HM Plant Honda’s Jonathan Rea was quickest at the start of the session setting a marker of 1:29.356. The Ulsterman then improved to lap the Lincolnshire circuit in 1:28.291.

Honda rider Karl Harris was an early contender as he went second with a 1:28.505 but Airwaves Ducati’s Gregorio Lavilla had other ideas ad went second with a 1:27.543.

At the 10 minute stage Jonathan Rea went quicker still at the top with a 1:27.275 before Leon Haslam settled down in his laps to go top with a 1:26.702 after 13 minutes.

Haslam knocked almost 0.4secs off his time at the halfway stage but his best time came just a few minutes later.

Jonathan Rea’s 1:26.182 was enough after 46 minutes to put him back to second with Stobart Vent Axia’s Tom Sykes looking for a podium once more after his Croft success starting from third.

Rounding off the front row for the two races is Airwaves Ducati’s Gregorio Lavilla whose best lap of 1:26.550 came 10 minutes from the end of the session.
