It was another year of domination for Marc Marquez in MotoGP as he clinched his sixth premier class title. 2019 was, statistically, his best-ever season in MotoGP as he continued to break records. 

The Repsol Honda rider took 12 victories, 10 pole positions and finished in the top two in 18 of the 19 races. Marquez ended the year on 420 points, smashing the premier class points record of 383. His sixth title makes Marquez the most successful Honda rider in the premier class. 

The increased speed of the RC213V helped Marquez become even more unstoppable. The Spaniard was able to control the majority of races in 2019. Sometimes he disappeared into the distance and took a comfortable win. In other races, he would stalk his prey and make his move on the final lap, much to the dismay of Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales. 

Marquez knows that the threat coming from younger riders like Quartararo is increasing, but right now he is the king of MotoGP.
