MX1 rider Steven Lenoir has passed away

Steven Lenoir, a former British motocross champion, has died following a crash during a qualifying session in France yesterday.

The French HR Kawasaki MX1 rider was preparing for a race at the Flanders Motocross Championship when the accident occurred.

A press release from Kawasaki reads, “The accident happened during a qualifying session at a round of the Flanders Motocross Championship in France. Despite the best efforts by emergency services, Steven sadly succumbed to his injuries. Everyone at Kawasaki sends their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Steven at this incredibly sad time.”

There has been an outpouring of support from riders including Neil Hodgson, Leon Haslam and the Lowes brothers. World champion Downhill MTB rider Danny Hart has also expressed his sadness at the loss.
