DTRA Hooligan races go down a storm at MCN Festival

First ever round of the DTRA ‘Hooligan’ race series thrills crowds during the MCN Festival of Motorcycling.

In front of a packed grandstand at the Peterborough Arena the three part European mini-series, open to 750+cc twins and multi’s running stock frames, kicked off in spectacular style last weekend with a diverse range of machines taking to the speedway oval.

Three qualifying heats sorted grid positions for an action packed final. Geoff Cain led the charge on a 2016 Ducati Scrambler (the same machine MCN had on a road test the day before!) with Paul Harrison on a vintage Triumph and Gary Inman on a Harley Davidson Sportster.

It was Ross Sharp on a Cagiva who was moving quickest and soon found himself in the lead. There was plenty of action back in the field with a real mix of riders, bikes and abilities. It was Sharp who took the win with Cain second and Inman third.

The next Hooligan round takes place at the Hells Race in Helzoldlaan, Belgium on June 18-19 with the final being held at Dirt Quake Kings Lynn on July 15.
