Endurance: Suzuki takes title as GMT94 wins Oschersleben 8 Hour

1 of 1

The Suzuki Endurance Racing Team have taken their fifteenth world title as this year’s championship culminated in the Oschersleben 8 Hour, edging out race winners GMT94 Yamaha by only a point.

The Suzuki squad needed to finish a place behind the Yamaha team, and in the end were able to do that easily, taking second place only 21 seconds behind their French rivals after eight hours of racing.

However, it was heartbreak for title contenders Yamaha Austria Racing Team, who were forced out of the lead after six hours, ending their title aspirations.

In fact, it was a war of attrition at the front, with three of the seven teams who went into the weekend as potential champions failing to finish the race with YART joined by both SRC Kawasaki and FCC TSR Honda.
