O’Halloran completes Suzuka test

Honda Racing’s MCE British Superbike championship rider Jason O’Halloran will return to the Suzuka 8hr race this year with the Sakuri Honda squad alongside fellow Aussie Troy Herfoss.

The BSB rider, who took his debut podium finishes in the class last weekend at Snetterton, was also able to make the most of the long spring break in the BSB calendar by flying to Japan to join the team for their first test on the CBR1000.

“It’s been good to get testing, and both myself and Troy managed to go fast in a short space of time. I managed a 10.0 with a fairly used tyre with traffic so the potential is very good and once we improve the setting and get some more laps in I’m sure we can do a really good job and challenge for a top six finish in the race.

“Our target has to be a little different as this is a small family-run team competing against some very good teams with good riders so we have to be realistic with our targets and just aim to reach them.”

O’Halloran will be one of a long list of British-based riders heading to the prestigious race in late July, with fellow BSB racers Broc Parkes and Josh Waters, former champion Alex Lowes and MotoGP star Bradley Smith all lining up for the race.
