Triple World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss will get his first official test in a V8 Supercar tomorrow (Wednesday). Bayliss’ decision to test is the clearest indication yet of his plan to race in the Australian series in the future.

The test at Queensland Raceway will see Bayliss drive the title winning TeamVodafone Ford Falcon alongside this years series drivers.

There will be official time keeping at the test meaning that Bayliss’ laps will be timed giving an indication of his competitiveness against the series regulars.

Bayliss retired from WSB at the end of 2008 after dominating the series. The 39 year old Australian was at the opening round of the WSB championship at Phillip Island ten days ago where he revealed that he will continuing to attend selected European WSB rounds during the season.

Bayliss will maintain his close connections with Ducati and is also working with WSB organisers, Infront along with WSB’s sole tyre supplier, Pirelli.
