Norasport Race Report: Round 7 from Three Sisters

Round seven of the Gimoto National Supermoto Championship was kindly sponsored by Dave Clarke Racing Accessories Ltd, who is always on hand to assist racers in the paddock and support the Husaberg riders who did exceptionally well at this round.

Race one of the 450 National Championships and Andy Mitchell had the lead and despite gaining ground on the dirt sections James Addy could not displace Andy from the win. Lee Rudd some way back from the leaders took third place while Graeme Norris finished in fourth despite battling with Ben Kirkman for a while.

Phil Gee and Chris Walker fell foul of a game of skittles going into the first turn, and while Phil made it back to ninth position Chris had a second fall leaving him well down the pack. In the second race Andy had an extensive lead over James Addy, and these two were unchallenged for the whole race.

Graeme Norris had to hold off the advances of both Ben Kirkham and Lee Rudd to hold onto third place, and some excellent positioning in the last final lap saw him come out into lunar ahead of Lee Rudd with enough advantage to keep a hold of third place.

This left Lee Rudd in fourth position marginally ahead of Ben Kirkham. In the final race James Addy had an early lead and the win looked a certainty, until a fall in the penultimate lap left him with too much ground to make up; and Andy Mitchell took the third and final win of the day with James in second place.

Graeme Norris had an excellent days racing and despite coming under intense pressure especially from Ben Kirkham and Phil Gee he held onto third place once again.

Meanwhile Phil Gee who had a great race and had been pressuring Graeme, came under pressure himself in the final lap of the race and exchanged places three times with Chris Walker in the last section of the track, for Chris to take fourth place.

James McClellan had the best outcome following a battle with Brad Davey and took seventh position behind Lee Rudd.
