Stephanie sets New Records

Sixteen year old Stephanie Waddelow from Ely, Cambridge set new records at the British Motorcycle Racing Clubs opening round of the MRO Superteen Championship at Brands Hatch.

Stephanie became what is believed to be the first woman ever to qualify on pole position at a UK road racing event. The young woman followed that by winning the dry opening championship race in a titanic struggle by re-taking the lead with two corners remaining.

Stephanie then suffered a huge crash at Paddock Hill while leading the second race in pouring rain while heading the field with a three second lead.

Her SS Racing team worked into the night to repair the Signal backed Aprilia RS 125 and the hard work paid off with Stephanie taking a further race win in the dry opening race on Sunday against stiff opposition.

Again in pouring rain Stephanie ensured the weekend finished on a high by finishing 6th in her final race of the weekend.

Stephanie is thought to have set records by not only taking pole, but also by then going on to win the first race from pole and then set a further record by becoming the first woman to record two race wins at any motorcycle race meeting.
