Adam and Peter Molloy, identical twins from Bedfordshire, are both embarking upon club racing in 2008 on V-Twin motorcycles.

Adam, whose machine of choice is the Suzuki RGV250, races with Derby Phoenix in the Formula 250 class.

Adam Molloy said, “I chose the RGV as it’s small and light, plus the old man is a two stroke wizard having won multiple karting championships in the 80’s and 90’s.

“The bike is far from standard; we’ve made a lot of our own stuff including a set of pipes. This is my third full year and we hope to lift the formula 250 crown.”

Peter Molloy, his younger brother by 12 minutes, who races in the BMCRC MiniTwins added: “I ride an SV650 in MiniTwins. It’s a pretty standard bike apart from the bodywork, suspension and tyres, offering a great entry into club level racing.

“I won the clubman MiniTwins title in 2007 in my first year so in 2008 I’m going for the full championship.”

Adam and Peter both raced at the first round of the BMCRC championships early in March at Brands Hatch.

Adam was getting ready for his year ahead with Derby Phoenix whilst Peter took a fourth, third and two wins from his opening four races in a busy 40 race season.

Adam said: “Mum and Dad must be mental. They support us at all of our race meetings and we only clash twice so 20 weekends of the year they’re on the road.

Peter added: “We couldn’t do it without them. Mind you, if they’re not watching us they’re shouting at the tele cheering on the Brits in MotoGP and WSBK, so it’s no wonder we both ended up racing.”
