ANGLESEY, WALES, SATURDAY-SUNDAY

Daz Belworthy and Kerrigan Read were tying on points going into the fourth round of the Derby Phoenix allcomers held at Anglesey over the weekend.

Read had won the Wirral 100 powerbike races the previous Monday in getting to know the circuit as Derby Phoenix had not used the new track previously.

Read finished second to Belworthy in the timed qualifier on Saturday morning, but then in the final fell while descending the Corkscrew and broke his shoulder.

Belworthy went on to win all the 1300 races including the four stroke class.

BRANDS HATCH, KENT, SATURDAY-SUNDAY

Jenny Tinmouth was crowned the undisputed queen of the female fliers after two comfortable wins in the ladies races at the Thundersport GB weekend at Brands Hatch

A 12 second victory over Suzie Grayson and Deb Cartwright on Saturday was followed by an equally assured win over Sarah Jordan on Sunday where she lapped everyone up to fifth place.

16-year-old Stephanie Waddelow, already a four time winner at Brands Hatch this year was expected to give Tinmouth her biggest challenge but sadly broke a wrist in practice on Friday.

Tinmouth backed up her ladies victories with a fantastic ride in the final Thundersport 600 event when she passed Rob Hoyles for the lead on lap 10 and doggedly held off Gary May on the last lap for a very popular win.

Adam Shelton and 12-year-old Frazer Rogers shared two wins apiece in the typically frantic Superteen races. Shelton’s chance to make it a hat-trick ended in the gravel at Druids hairpin when he went down on the first lap.

William Dunlop was in a class of his own in the GP3 class with three wins on his KRP Honda, consistently circulating half a second faster than the rest of the field

Supermoto star Christian Iddon continued his impressive tarmac form with two Streetfighter victories on Saturday on his Aprilia.
