Donington Park- Facilities and Fans!

I have had a superb weekend at Donington Park, for the Motogp. The weather for the majority of the weekend was dry, the company was fab. However….. The facilities at the campsite were attrocious- COMMUNAL SHOWERS??!!?! Seriously, how dangerous could that be? On the Thurs there was no hot water at all. The toilets were revolting.

Then they made us pay for the gigs on the Fri and Sat night, which are free at Brands. I felt sorry for people leaving the campsite on the Sunday night- for some of them it took 3 hrs to get out of the circuit- absolutely horrendous.

However, the biggest disappointment of the weekend, was watching the UK “Fans”, running onto the track at the bottom of Craner, 2 laps before the end. It was stupid and dangerous- for both the public and the riders. Some of them even took their kids onto the track. The marshallers did not stop the public- in fact a couple of them were photographing the events. This is one of the main reasons why the Motogp will probably not be at Doni next year. It really was appaulling. Let’s get the Motogp down to Brands, where the facilities are second to none!!!
