Mackenzie and Whitham race Harley-Davidsons

Niall Mackenzie and James Whitham will take guest rides in the all new Harley-Davidson XR1200 Trophy series at BSB rounds next year.

Harley UK’s Greg Willis said: “Niall and James are confirmed as guest riders and we’re talking to lots of others (professional racers and celebrities).”

Willis also told MCN that news of the series in MCN and Harley’s presence at the NEC Show with one of the XR1200 race bikes has resulted in 25 competitors already expressing a serious interest in racing next year.

Thames Valley, Oxford, Cheltenham Harley dealers are running one-man teams while long-Kings Road, London dealers Warrs, historically a massive supporter of road racing, is running two bikes. Other dealerships are expected to confirm their involvement.

Harley UK is also running two bikes: one for a guest rider at every round and one journalist bike.

The cost of the bike and kit will be £12,000 with an additional £2,200 entry fee payable to MSVR and the cost of tyres to purchase from Dunlop (a maximum of £2,397 for the whole series.
